Why I Work With Other Bloggers (And Why You Should Too!)

If you have read through my blog in the past, you would have seen that I regularly include other bloggers. In the past I have had other bloggers create Wishlists around Christmas. Or I have guest bloggers on my blog every once in a while if someone wants to! I also began a series called Trendy Talks in June where I interview other bloggers and other fashion related people. More recently I held a linkup where I invited any fashion bloggers to come and join in and make new friends. Today I am going to share exactly why I work with other bloggers and why I think you should too!

Why do I do it?
I enjoy working with other bloggers because it is a great way to meet new friends! I also believe that a bloggers biggest competition is themselves, not some other blogger. We should be working together to create awesome content instead of comparing ourselves to each other. Working together is also a great way to help other bloggers get their name out there, or help get my name out to their readers. When someone is on my blog, say for Trendy Talks, all my readers are introduced to them. I also tweet about the post, so all my twitter followers hear about them too! That means they are bound to get more traffic and possibly even new followers! Also, usually if they are on my blog, they will share it with their audience too, at least on Twitter. That gets some of their readers to come over to my blog, which raises my numbers in return. Believe me, I don't just work with bloggers to get my name out there, but it is definitely an added bonus!

Why should you do it?

I think all bloggers should try to work with other bloggers, at least occasionally! You should do it to make new friends. You should do it to create a community of bloggers that you know and can contact if you need help or just want to talk to. You should do it because it will help other bloggers get their name out. You should  do it because it will help get your own name out there. You should do it because then your readers will know that you aren't a stuck up blogger who doesn't like working with other people. You should do it because your readers like seeing different bloggers and will like seeing a new face. If those reasons aren't enough to get you to start working with other bloggers, then I don't know what is!

How can you work together?

Well, I am not going to tell you all the ways you can work together, because that is up to you! I recommend having a specific idea in mind before you contact another blogger and ask them. I also recommend that in the beginning you try to stick to working with bloggers around your size. If you ask a blogger who has 20,000 followers to write a post on your blog, but you only have 500 followers, chances are they won't. That doesn't mean you can't try though... feel free to dream big and work to make those dreams a reality! Brainstorm unique ways you can work with other bloggers because you don't want to copy an idea another blogger has already done. I gave ways I have worked with bloggers before at the top of this post, so you can refer to those to help you begin brainstorming if you need to, but I definitely wouldn't recommend doing exactly those things!

Let me know if you work with other bloggers in the comments or if you have any comments about this post! Also, if you are ever interested in working with me do not hesitate to shoot me an email at thetrendychickblog{at}gmail{dot}com! I would love to discuss any ideas with you!

  4. I love chatting to other bloggers, and I feel like I have made some real friends through it. So I would love to work with fellow bloggers more, because I'm always being inspired by them.
