Help Out This Halloween

Let's be honest here. By now basically anyone who is reading this post is too old to be going trick or treating. I have so many teenage friends who still do every year and every year I wonder when they will finally stop. Sure, it might have been cute when you were 7, but let's do something more productive this year.

Personally, I am going to a volleyball fundraiser a local school is doing where the money raised will go to help a teacher who has cancer. I know not everyone can do this, but I can guarantee that if you look around you can find some way to give back a little that night instead of getting a bunch of candy. If you can't find anything in your area, why not do something with a group of friends? Get together and go help out a local animal shelter or visit people in a nursing home. I promise that with a little thought and effort, you can brighten someone's day!

Though of course, we will all be hitting the stores the next day to get the discounted candy!

What are you planning on doing Friday night? Share in the comments!

  1. I'm giving out Halloween Candy! This is my first year with a house so I'm really excited to be able to see all the adorable costumes.
Something that I've seen teenagers do, though, that would be helping out/giving back is instead of going door to door for candy, groups of teenagers went door to door to collect non-perishable food items for the local food bank. I think that, depending on the area/household, most people have at least one can they can give.. they walked around with a wagon, so they weren't carrying it either. It was super nice of them to do :)

  2. I think i'll be eating a take out and all the halloween candy we brought for the trick or treaters come Friday!

  3. Totally feelin' this post! What a great idea to spread :)
