Today I am chatting with Alyssa from Knee-Highs & Pumpkin Spice. How cute is that name too?! Alyssa's blog is a newer one, but she puts so much effort into it and her posts are great considering she just started recently!
1. Where does the name Knee-Highs & Pumpkin Spice come from and why does it fit your blog?
I first made my blog as an assignment of a class last fall semester. I wanted to make it a fashion blog so my professor told me to make it time sensitive, so it became a fall fashion blog. I was obsessed with knee-high socks at that time (still am) and pumpkin spice reminds me of fall. I was on the phone with one of my best friends for an hour coming up with a name and we came up with that one, it had a nice ring to it. Even though my blog has grown from last year and isn't a fall-fashion blog anymore, the name still suits me and my blog. I want my blog to give off a warm and welcoming vibe and I think the name Knee-Highs & Pumpkin Spice does that.
2. What is your favorite part of blogging?
Hearing feedback from people who read it. I love hearing that someone liked an outfit I came up with or one of my daily thoughts post related to him or her. I also love hearing my friends and family telling me they read it because that means the most to me.
3. What is your favorite blog to read?
That’s a tough one because I read a lot of blogs. Probably Corals + Cognacs; Hallie has a great writing voice and I love her style.
4. Where do you get inspiration for new posts?
When I make outfit post it’s pretty much an outfit I was going to wear that day anyways; I try not to put too much thought into it. When I want to write a daily thought post I usually look at my Facebook feed to see what people are talking about or what articles they’re sharing. That usually sparks an idea of what I should write about.
5. What is your favorite piece in your closet?
My Katz shoes from Topshop. I went on the biggest mission to find them and when I gave up was when I finally found them! They’re my babies.
6. What is your favorite fall scent?
Would I be considered basic if I said pumpkin spice? It just smells so good! There’s something warming about a pumpkin spice scent, I like it.
7. What is your favorite quote?
It’s the quote from Walt Disney that was put in the Meet the Robinsons film and I try to live by it, “Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
8. What item is #1 on your life bucket list?
To live in London for at least a year.
